DSE, CSE down at early trading

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed downward trend in early hours of trading on Monday (July 15), the second session of the week.

Within first two hours of trading, DSEX, the benchmark index of DSE, shed over 56.09 points or 1.08 percent to stand at 5123.40 at 12:14 pm.

But the two other indices edged higher in the early trading.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went up by 15.75 points or 1.32 percent to stand at 1,175 points.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also advanced 21.19 points or 1.14 percent to stand at 1832 points.

Trade deals stood at 42,187 with transaction at over Tk 1,340.64 million on the DSE.

Of the issues traded till then, 41 advanced, 276 declined and 31 issues remained unchanged.

Fortune Shoes Limitd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth , Tk 65:55 million changing hands till then followed by Grameenphone Ltd, Monno Ceramic Ltd.

The port city bourse also saw negative trend till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX–losing 206.30 points or 1.29 percent to stand at 1567points, also at 12:10pm.

Of the 212 issues traded till then, 27 gained, 167 declined and 18 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 42.72 million.
