TCB sells essential items from tomorrow

The state-run Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will begin its sale   by trucks tomorrow to provide essential items among the low-income group people at a subsidized price amid the COVID-19 pandemic and also ahead of the Holy Eid –Ul – Azha.

The TCB will sell essential items till July 29 through some 450 mobile trucks in the capital, metropolitan areas,  districts and in upazilas.

Talking to BSS, TCB joint director and Dhaka Region office Information Officer Md Humayun Kabir said that the TCB has been continuing its truck sale operations as an emergency service during the pandemic.

“But in order to increase,  the supply of essential items, the TCB will begin its truck sale  from tomorrow through dealers by strictly following the health safety guidelines,” he added.

He informed that the truck sale by TCB would continue till July 29 except the government declared holidays marking the Holy Eid -Ul -Azha.

The items will include sugar, lentil and soybean oil. Each consumer will be able to buy highest five liter soybean oil at TK 100 per liter , four kg sugar at TK 55 per kg and two  kg lentil at TK  55 per kg.

Each truck will have an allocation  of goods up to 800 kg sugar, 600 kg lentil and 1200 liter soybean oil.
