Azam J Chowdhury elected Prime Bank chairman PDF Print E-mail

Dhaka, May 27 (UNB) - Azam J Chowdhury has been elected chairman of
the Board of Directors of Prime Bank Ltd for two years with effect
from June 1.

The Board of Directors of the bank at its 417th meeting held on April
29 unanimously elected him as the next chairman of the bank, said a
press release on Tuesday.

Azam J Chowdhury is an elite industrialist and entrepreneur in
Bangladesh. He is the chairman and owner of East Coast Group. In
addition, he is the chairman of The Consolidated Tea & Lands Company
Bangladesh Limited (formerly, James Finlay Limited) and also the
chairman of Bangladesh Trade Syndicate Limited, an associate of TNT
Express, a global express company.

He is also the managing director of MJL Bangladesh Limited,
distributor of Exxon Mobil Corporation in Bangladesh and director of
Central Depository Bangladesh Limited (CDBL).

Azam J Chowdhury has been serving as the vice-president of Bangladesh
Energy Companies Association and has recently been elected president
of Bangladesh Ocean Ooing Ship Owner’s Association (BOGSOA).
