DHAKA: Share price indices at the country’s both bourses — Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) –witnessed positive trend as market opened on Tuesday (June 25).
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 6.46 points or 0.12 percent to reach 5,385.61 at about 12:20 pm.
The two other indices also saw upward trend.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) rose 2.11 points or 0.17 percent to stand at 1232.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 1.29 points or 0.06 percent to stand at 1895.11 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at Tk 1,834.35 million on the DSE, riding on JMI Syringes and Medical Devices Ltd and Global Insurance Company Ltd.
JMI Syringes and Medical Devices Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 166 million changing hands followed by Global Insurance Company Ltd and Genex Infosys Ltd.
Of the issues traded till then, 156 gained, 118 declined and 70 remained unchanged.
The CSE key index, CSCX gained 12.60 points or 0.07 percent to stand at 16,483.58, also at about 11:52 am today.
Of the 183 issues traded till then, 71 gained, 68 declined and 44 remained unchanged with turnover worth of Tk 271.98 million.
