Taxes Zone of Rangpur have fixed a target of
collecting Taka 851 crore as income tax during the current 2019-2020 FY
higher by Taka 221 crore against the collected amount of Taka 630 crore
during the 2018-2019 FY in the zone.
Tax Commissioner for Taxes Zone-Rangpur Md. Abdul Latif disclosed the
information at a press conference arranged by the Office of the Tax
Commissioner of Taxes Zone-Rangpur at its conference room this evening.
The press conference was arranged to inform the media about distribution
of citations and crests among 56 top taxpayers of 22 circles in seven
districts and Rangpur City Corporation under Taxes Zone-Rangpur tomorrow
(Wednesday).
Officials in the event informed journalists about preparation for holding
the week-long Income Tax Fair- 2019 at Zila Parishad Community Centre in the
city from (November 14 (Thursday).
Besides, four-day district level income tax fairs will be arranged from
November 15 at Dinajpur, Lalmonirhat, Panchagarh, Kurigram, Thakurgaon and
Nilphamari district headquarters.
In addition to this, five two-day upazila level income tax fairs will be
arranged from November 15 at Syedpur in Nilphamari, Pirganj in Thakurgaon,
Badarganj in Rangpur and Bochaganj and Phulbari upazila headquarters in
Dinajpur under the zone.
Additional Tax Commissioner of Taxes Zone-Rangpur Sheikh Md. Moniruzzaman
delivered welcome speech narrating goals and objectives of awarding top
income tax payers in different categories and arranging the income tax fairs.
Abdul Latif said tax officials will assist all eligible citizens in getting
information on income tax, registering or re-registering e-TIN numbers, e-TIN
certificates, calculating income taxes and filling out income tax return
forms at the stalls set up on fair premises.
“There are over 1.92-lakh taxpayers in all 22 circles under Taxes Zone-
Rangpur as per statistics available on June 30 this year. The number of
taxpayers is expected to further increase during the current 2019-2020 FY in
the zone,” he said.
