BGMEA requests govt to simplify RMG export procedures

BGMEA Vice President Miran Ali and first Vice President of BKMEA Mohammad Hatem also attended the meeting.BGMEA President Faruque Hassan said the garment factories were still struggling to survive and recover from the losses and shocks created by the pandemic.

Given the critical situation, simplification of export procedures would help the industry to turn around, he added.

Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh said the commerce ministry would consider the ways to ease export procedures and take steps accordingly.

Md. Hafizur Rahman, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Commerce, was also present at the meeting.
