Italy has expressed interest to invest in Bangladesh’s leather industry.
Italian ambassador to Bangladesh Enrico Nunziata expressed the interest today during a meeting with Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSIC) chairman Mushtaq Hasan at BSIC building in the capital, said a press release.
After the meeting, the BSIC chairman said that the Italian ambassador has expressed interest in producing biofertilizer and electricity from solid waste from Bangladesh’s leather industry.
Bangladesh and Italy will work together to manage solid waste in the leather industry, he added.
Italian Ambassador said `Bangladesh has a conducive environment for investment. We want to invest here. “Italy will work to transfer green technology in between the two countries, increase Italian investment in Bangladesh and develop bilateral relations in the future”, he added.
Among others, additional secretary Kazi Shakhawat Hossain and BSCIC Board of Directors and senior BSCIC officials were present on the occasion.
