Speakers on Wednesday said that adding value to the products is required for staying ahead in the competitive global market. The comment made at a discussion on “Productivity for Global Competitiveness”, arranged by the National Productivity Organization marking the National Productivity Day 2019 at CIRDAP auditorium in the capital.
Addressing in the discussion, Industries Minister said Bangladesh has reached a new height through the sustainable socio-economic development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and NPO is playing a vital role behind the achievement.
“Bangladesh has a long way to go entering 4th Industrial Revolution. Public awareness should be raised with the help of productivity ecosystem” he added.
He further said that it is not possible for the National Productivity Organization Commission alone to achieve the goal. “The National Productivity Organization is already working to ensure higher productivity at all industries” he added.
Early in the morning, National Productivity Organization under Ministry of Industries (NPO) brought out a colorful rally led by Secretary for Ministry of Industries Md Abdul Halim in the city to mark the National Productivity Day 2019.
In his speech, Md Abdul Halim said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared productivity as National Movement to take living standards of people to the desired level.
The main objective of this movement is to make Bangladesh as middle earning economy within 2021 by increasing productivity in every sector including agriculture and industry.
He called upon directors, owners, employees and workers of various sectors to work actively in productivity movement.
